2005 Letter to BBC Regarding their Campaign Against Schooling Faith in Islam

From 2005 Archive of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon::

Dear Executives in the BBC,

Mr. Roland Buerk in his write-up dated 26/2/2005 like many Whiteman and their Afro-Asian agents expressed concern about "Schooling Faith" in Islam.

We understand very well that the so-called "Islamic Militancy" is not their main concern, rather they themselves love to create "Islamic Militants" and love to supply them fund, training and explosives to create excuse for banning "Schooling Faith" in Islam.

The root of the problem lies in Whiteman's obsession to rule the world forever.  European Renaissance and Industrial Revolution in Europe created vested interests who want to rule the world forever by the values and institutions of atheism, materialism, colonialism, opportunism, hedonism, fornication and by all the vices evil mind can think of.

It is a Blessing of God that the vested interests have at length been broken. Their musclemen have leaned to Christianity and their intellectuals without the backing of the muscle is now beating about the bush in frustration. Their intellectuals can not suppress their happiness that Talebans and Saddam are gone. But their craze to win some position through anti-war cries continues.

Those who do not have the compassion to look after their parents at  their old age, want to teach the Afro-Asian nations about Human Rights and Good Governance. Obviously their aim is neither HR not Good Governance. Their aim is to manipulate to keep their domination over the world forever.  And that's nonsense. And they are already losing this battle.

I have been a member of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon for more than 20 years and have been its International Affairs Secretary and Adviser to Jamia Nooria Madrasa  for about 8 years. I am very close to the Islamic Clerics and Non-Gov't Madrasa system (i.e. Quaumi Madrasa) and its pupils and teachers. I honestly and sincerely support the Talebans and the freedom fight in Afghanistan and Iraq, though I agree that they are human beings and they are not immune from wrongs and errors.  But like my compatriots I strongly pursue a policy of not taking up arms in so long we enjoy Freedom of Expression Bangladesh.

Founder of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon, Late Hazrat Maulana Muhammadullah Hafezzee Huzur (Peace of God be upon him), is also one of the founders of the Non-Government Madrasa System in Bangladesh. He often said in both indoor and public meetings, “Muslims are our brothers in religion, but Hindus are our kin.  We are all progeny of our earliest parents Adam & Eve (Blessings of God be upon them).”  But BBC’s Mr. Roland Buerk’s local guide took him to the so-called madrasa child student in Narayangonj who said to Burek “I want to spread Islam, to convert Hindus into Muslims”. I am sure this part of the report is blatant lie.   I am curious to meet Mr. Burek’s guide and the so-called Madrasa student he interviewed.  Most likely it is a concocted story in line with Indian campaign to pressurize the rulers for a crackdown on Islamic institutions in Bangladesh. Also they probably hope that even BNP could be their perfect puppet had the Islamic clerics were not in the BNP-led alliance.

So far we know, the recently banned Jamatul Muzahideen and its founder and leader the self-styled “Shaikh” Abdur Rahman is an Indian agent. His wife is the sister of Mr. Mirza Azam MP, General Secretary of Awami Jubo League.  Soon after the current 4-Party Alliance formed Government in Bangladesh, Miraza Azam sent “Shaikh” Abdur Rahman to India. Shaikh” Abdur Rahman was most likely under Indian intelligence for more that 6 months for orientation, fund and explosives.

It is true that situation for quick growth of Islamic militancy all over the Muslim world exist.  But if the liberal space for Islamic clerics and activists is not shrunken, they are unlikely to choose the path of armed struggle in Bangladesh.

Best regards,

Kazi Azizul Huq,

International Affairs Secretary,
